Minimalist Approach to Recording

One of the greatest things about owning a studio is you decide what gear you want, what the studio will be like and how much gear to get. One of the worst things about owning a studio is trying to decide what gear to get, what the studio design will be and how much gear should I get! With our impending move to Canada and the construction of our permenant home and of Indian River Studios I have decided to go with a minimalist approach to my current project that I am recording. I endorse and use Presonus Studio one Pro for my DAW and also the Presonus Audio Box interface and Fader Port control surface. I have decided to go with this modest set up because I do not want to get the full digital board set up with all the associated wiring, monitor set ups and the snakes etc, etc. It is pretty easy with this set up because the majority of the tracks are recorded dry and them when I am mixing I add the reverb, compression etc. The first song that will be posted is called "Brooklyn" This will be released around the end of August. Till then keep on laying down the tracks!
