One of the greatest things is being a studio owner is being able to record whenever you want and even more is opening a new studio! With the move up to Canada we have been able to get our new studio Lake Effect Studios up and running. Considering that the studio sits on Lake Ontario and that there is a great ammount of Lake Effect weather what better name for a studio! The capabilities are endless! With the complete Presonus Studio One Pro software to the Amplitude software to recreate any Fender amp known to man! I am excited to finish recording the Album "Ring Bell for Service"by the artist Dutch. I will post pictures once my photographer(my gorgeous wife) has the chance to take them!

Minimalist Approach to Recording
One of the greatest things about owning a studio is you decide what gear you want, what the studio will be like and how much gear to get. One of the worst things about owning a studio is trying to decide what gear to get, what the studio design will be and how much gear should I get! With our impending move to Canada and the construction of our permenant home and of Indian River Studios I have decided to go with a minimalist approach to my current project that I am recording. I endorse and use Presonus Studio one Pro for my DAW and also the Presonus Audio Box interface and Fader Port control surface. I have decided to go with this modest set up because I do not want to get the full digital board set up with all the associated wiring, monitor set ups and the snakes etc, etc. It is pretty easy with this set up because the majority of the tracks are recorded dry and them when I am mixing I add the reverb, compression etc. The first song that will be posted is called "Brooklyn" This will be released around the end of August. Till then keep on laying down the tracks!

How Time flies
Well, it has been close to a year since I last posted on here. In that time I have had major reconstructive surgery on my shoulder and arm, worked like a wildman and found out that in a few short weeks we will be posted to Kingston Canada! This is an honor and a really great reward for all the hard work we have put in the last 6 years! While we are up in Kingston we will also be building our beautiful dream home on our property in the Adirondacks. The great thing is not only will I have my recording studio in it but I will be able to give my wife her dream sewing studio. From Fabric storage to cutting tables to sewing tables to her design wall with display case for her antique sewing machines her studio will be a warm comfortable place which will only give her even more inspiration to create even more beautiful clothes! Yes, she is an amazing seamstress and designer! So, now the fun of documenting everything begins. I will be posting pictures from the initial staking of where our home will be built to all stages of construction and finally when the first recording takes place! Then, once all the work is done I will start to add tutorial videos for how to maximize the features and power of the equipment I use so anyone who uses the same gear can follow along. I will be posting more weekly!
